Jesus, excellent Teacher,
why do they hurt you?
beat you and bruise you?
Jesus, healing the broken,
freeing from bondage,
bringing us home!
Jesus, sinless Saviour,
sinners now have you,
want to destroy you!
Jesus, bowing before them,
can you still love them,
can you forgive?
Jesus, friend of the sinners,
never relenting,
ever self-giving -
Jesus, Son of the Father,
broken and healing,
gift for us all.
