Father God, how you have loved us

Sought us out when we had wandered,
Brought your rebel people home!
Now you call us out on mission,
For your love would reach the world.
Light in us a loving passion,
Love the banner we unfurl!
Forward then! Our God is calling!
Come, his people, hear his word!
Bound together, reaching outward
To the world!
Son of God, you came to find us,
Left your glory, came a man!
Lived among us, taught and healed us,
Wayward people gathered in!
But we thought a cross would suit you,
Saw you suffer, watched you die!
By that cross you died to save us!
Now you live good news to bring!
Forward then! The Saviour calls us!
Go in love to reach his world!
As his people, bound together
By his word!
Spirit God, with wind and fire,
On the day of Pentecost,
Filling, you empow'red your people,
Bringing pardon to the lost!
How we need your heav'nly power,
Moving forward in our day!
Spirit, fill us, cleanse, renew us,
Guide us, lead us, this we pray!
Forward then! The Spirit bids us!
Still a mission to fulfil!
Fellowship, now bound together
For his will!
